Midnight Madness

Ah, the 80’s- the start of teen comedies. Meatballs and Animal House were highly popular and highly profitable. Disney decided to take a risk and change their image a bit by getting into the market with Midnight Madness. It come out in February of 1980 and was the second film made by Disney to be rated PG. The movie had a large ensemble cast of some up and comers such as the film debut of Michael J. Fox and Paul Reubens. More

Hostess Comic Book ads

I love reading Bronze Age comics. I know it was not a popular time period with comic book fans but I love them. One reason I like reading comics from the ‘70s and ‘80s are the ads that were featured in them, specifically the Hostess ads. Starting in 1975 and running until 1982, comic characters from Casper the Friendly Ghost to Ghost Rider told kids how amazing Hostess products were. The ads were a one page mini comic. They told the story of a villain with an evil plan, sometimes involving cupcakes. They were usually stopped by either a Marvel or DC hero. The crowd would cheer and the hero would pass out delicious Hostess Fruit Pies. More

This is the question you have to ask yourself when you play Park Patrol, Published by Firebird software and developed by Activision in 1984. Much like other games of the day such as Paperboy, your mission is to dodge objects while trying to complete a task.  Park Patrol on the Commodore 64 is a game I have fond memories of. I even had the menu screen music as my cell phone ring tone. More
